  • Curt Nelson Curt Nelson

    Bio: With over thirty years of successful national and international business creation and leadership experience, Curtis Nelson has directed the development and successful launch of over 45 new businesses and more than 300 new products for the communications, IT, military, transportation, medical, health, food, and gardening industries worldwide.

    Nelson is a seasoned public speaker, entrepreneur, investor, consultant, and three-time veteran of Inc. Magazine's 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies® list. A 1974 graduate from the University of Iowa, Nelson holds a BBA in Marketing. He has been an active U of I alumnus and currently serves on the board and executive committee for the University of Iowa Research Foundation and as an advisor to the IOWA Centers for Enterprise. Nelson serves on the Business Advisory Council for Mt. Mercy College, as a director and officer on multiple private and public boards, and is also the author of The Recipe for Business Success. Nelson currently serves as President & CEO of EDC, Inc., a nationally recognized business accelerator.   • Josh Cramer Josh Cramer

    Bio: As President and Founder of Cramer Development, Josh helps to influence the direction of many of our startup clients and other web projects. Josh is also involved in strategic consulting, software architecture, and team building. In addition to Cramer Development, he has been involved with several other startup businesses and products including a wireless internet service provider, IT consulting firm, and several web based products. Josh holds a BS in Engineering Operations from Iowa State University and currently resides in Iowa City, IA. A student of philosophy and the Bible, Josh is a husband and father of three children. He enjoys the outdoors and is ever eager to partake in the next back country camping/hiking expedition.   • Regenia Bailey Regenia Bailey

    Bio: Regenia Bailey is the founder and principal of the Bailey Leadership Initiative. She has worked for over twelve years in the not-for-profit sector and was the founding director of the Iowa Women’s Foundation. Regenia teaches business courses as an adjunct faculty member at Kirkwood Community College. She has an MBA from The University of Iowa. In addition to her consulting work, Regenia is serving in her second term as an Iowa City City Council member and recently completed a term as Mayor of Iowa City. In 2006, Governor Vilsack appointed her to the statewide Vision Iowa board and in 2009, Governor Culver appointed her to serve as Chair for this board.     Bio: Herbert A. Wilson is a longtime corporate executive residing in Iowa City, Iowa. Herbert Wilson's career has been centered on plant expansion, facilities planning and corporate planning for a variety of companies in the United States and Canada. He was owner, president and chief executive officer of Micro-Surface Finishing Products Inc., in Wilton, Iowa, from 1977 until retiring in 2000; owner and president of Startups Unlimited Inc., in Iowa City, from 1993 to the present; senior vice president for manufacturing at I.S.

    Berlin Press in Chicago from 1970 to 1973; executive vice president for Iowa Steel Mill, in Wilton, Iowa, from 1973 to 1977; corporate planning manager and manager of manufacturing for Phoenix Manufacturing in Joliet, Ill, from 1965 to 1970; and manager of corporate planning for Atlas Steels Ltd, in Welland, Ontario, from 1961 to 1965. He has served on numerous community boards and committees and has been a Rotarian for 40 years, including service as district governor in Iowa's Rotary District 6,000. Herbert Wilson earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue in 1951 and an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1959.

  • Yvette Craddock Yvette Craddock

    Bio: Yvette Craddock decided her entrepreneurial fate at six years of age. In 2002, she began her journey by establishing Click Marketing Solutions, a full-service marketing firm, which received immediate industry recognition and has garnered 14 awards, including international recognition. During her 16 year career, she has created and/or implemented marketing campaigns for and in conjunction with world-class brands such as Best Buy, Blockbuster, Wendy’s, CIGNA HealthCare, Subway, Gold’s Gym, Intel, Abrazo HealthCare, Hunt Construction and NWMF. She continues to blaze a marketing path as one of a handful of minority and female-owned advertising agency principals in the country.


  • Troy Miller Troy Miller

    Bio: Troy\'s 15 years of entrepreneurial endeavors focus largely on technology start-ups and education. After serving as a specialist in the Engineering office of start-up VoiceStream Wireless in Denver Colorado, he returned to Iowa and became a State of Iowa Certified teacher prior to teaching two years. He later launched innovative Naomi’s Kitchen before creating the Development Department for Heritage Christian School and raising funds for the non-profit’s successful $3.5 million building campaign. He also successfully served as Director of Investor Relations for SaaS start-up Green Team Technologies\' first round offering for their award-winning product Fuse5. Troy\'s an investor who also assists start-ups with strategy and business development, and he has a passion to help innovative companies grow in the region.


  • Bern Shen Bern Shen

    Bio: Bern Shen is Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of HealthCrowd. Formerly double Board-certified in internal medicine and emergency medicine, Bern brings 15 years of clinical practice (Yale, Pitt, UCSF and international sites) and 15 years of health tech experience in large companies (HP, Oracle, Intel), startups, and as an angel investor to bear on HealthCrowd’s strategy and roadmap. He has adjunct faculty appointments in schools of medicine, pharmacy and business at UCSF and the University of Iowa, serves on the Board of Harvard Prof. Clay Christensen’s Innosight Institute, and holds an A.B. from Harvard and an MD, MPhil. from Yale.
